Now I’m reading about Formula 1 deaths and the 24 Hours of Le Mans race.
Thanks, mogar.
the 24 Hours of Le Mans race is one of the few motorsports events that i like. the concept in itself is so cool to me: endure for 24 hours in a car. take…
cool, matthew’s response isn’t in here either. cool.
what game was it?? that sounds amazing. i’d love to try that. even if i would give up.
That big bold text that says “reblog link”? Click the word “as”, then click “Text post”. Bam!
The game is called Test Drive Le Mans.

there’s a documentary about the 1955 Le Mans disaster out there that’s good. haven’t watched it but it’s highly recommended.
and if you’re interested in famous F1 figures, you should check out the Ayrton Senna documentary. His death is infamous in F1 history due to the mysterious circumstances surrounding it, and also the fact that another driver died on the same track during practice the same week he did, and another was seriously injured.
Interesting. I’m gonna watch that documentary. Got it bookmarked now.
I’m actually reading about Ayrton Senna right now!

the 24 Hours of Le Mans race is one of the few motorsports events that i like. the concept in itself is so cool to me: endure for 24 hours in a car. take shifts every once in a while, sleep or eat or something when you’re not in there, and hop back in when it’s time.
the idea of endurance racing is so much more fun than a NASCAR thing (well most things in cars are, tbh— F1 is way more fun and so is Indy Car to an extent)
I agree. I had a Dreamcast game that allowed you to race the 24 Hours of Le Mans course in it’s entirety. Ever since then, I’ve been fascinated by it. I wanna buy that game again and race the entire thing. Just shut myself off from everyone, stay up for 24 hours straight, and just do it.
I’ve loved F1 racing ever since I saw it in an episode of Speed Racer when I was a kid. It just looked so cool. Now that I know more about it, it’s just that much more interesting to me. Better than NASCAR, without the redneck connotations.
